04  Bonding adhesives

Three chemistries. One correct answer per application.

We stock and supply the three principal adhesive chemistries used in garment bonding — in film, web and tape form, cut to your width and roll length.

TPU hot-melt adhesive film roll

TPU Film (DNS)

Thermoplastic, with excellent elongation and recovery and a soft hand feel. Available clear or opaque.

Good wash performance
Aluminium 310ml PUR hot-melt adhesive canisters

PUR Hot-Melt

Reactive — cross-links after application for very high bond strength, applied at low temperature.

Excellent wash performance
Silicone adhesive drawn from an open drum with a spatula, showing its high-stretch consistency

Silicone

High flexibility and heat resistance, with non-slip properties for grippers and high-stretch garments.

Excellent stretch and recovery

Compare the chemistries.

Which adhesive is right depends on your fabric, your construction and the wash requirement your brand tests to.

Adhesive selection guide — characteristics, applications and wash performance.
Type Key characteristics Typical applications Wash performance
TPU Film (DNS) Thermoplastic; excellent elongation and recovery; soft hand feel; clear or opaque Bra wings, panel bonding, hems, elastic replacement, men's underwear, logos Good
Suited to standard domestic wash cycles
PUR Hot-Melt Reactive; cross-links after application; very high bond strength; low-temperature Outerwear, technical seams, laminating, bra, men's underwear Excellent
Industrial wash and dry-clean resistant
Silicone High flexibility and heat resistance; non-slip properties Silicone-bonded high stretch & recovery garments, bra Excellent
Retains elasticity after repeated wash

We qualify the adhesive on your fabric, to your wash requirement, before bulk.

Supply forms

Film, web and tape — cut to your process.

Custom widths, custom roll lengths, custom component shapes — supplied to fit your process rather than forcing your process to fit the product.

  • Film

Sheet adhesive for panel bonding, laminating and full-surface applications.

  • Web

Open-structure adhesive for breathable bonds and softer hand feel.

  • Tape

Narrow-width rolls for hems, seams, trims and continuous laydown.

Choosing an adhesive

Standard domestic wash
TPU film (DNS) gives the softest hand feel with good recovery at the lowest cost per metre.
Industrial or dry-clean
PUR hot-melt cross-links after application and resists industrial wash cycles.
High stretch & recovery
Silicone retains elasticity after repeated wash and adds non-slip grip.
Low-temperature fabrics
PUR applies at low temperature, protecting heat-sensitive synthetics.

Send fabric. We produce bonded samples with documented peel and wash results before you commit.

Proven before production

We test on your fabric, not a datasheet.

Bonded samples produced on your own fabric, with peel strength and wash test results, before you place a bulk order — at no obligation.
